Realistic exercises

Learning is gained through practice. With the help of a professional aggression actor and a medical actor, you gain an intensive learning experience. This gives you the confidence to set out on your journey.

Highest quality

You are entitled to the best safety training. We have over 21 years of experience and have trained 24,000 participants. We are ISO 9001, Lloyd’s/Cedeo and CRKBO certified.

Safe learning environment

If you experience mental or physical limitations, we will adapt the training accordingly. At the HEAT, a psychosocially trained staff member is also present, ensuring a safe learning environment for you.

What a month:   Six HEAT courses across three continents in November.   Three Basic HEATs and an Advanced HEAT in the Netherlands, along with our Basic HEAT course in Jordan and another in Kenya.   And, as the icing on the cake, our 20,000th participant!   We are happy ☺   HEAT training—return home safely
Hi Lea Acallar, congratulations on receiving your HEAT certificate and becoming the 𝟮𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗦𝗗!   May your travels for the Red Cross be filled with meaningful experiences, and, above all, safety! 👍
The HEAT Expert Group has successfully wrapped up! What can we say? It was wonderful to share stories, ideas, and best practices with professional HEAT training colleagues from around the world. With our group of HEAT training providers, we discussed the number and causes of aid worker casualties and wounded, the evolving landscape of HEAT, current safety and security challenges, some immersive practical exercises with medical actors and aggression inoculation (it's good to be outside!), the latest developments in HEAT certification, evidence-based learning, and the threat of armed drones. All this took place in a charming small castle in the Netherlands. We all went home with plenty of new insights to improve and update our HEAT courses! 👍 Big thanks to @ZIF - Zentrum für Internationale Friedenseinsätze gGmbH, @Norwegian Refugee Council, De SVV De School Voor Vredesmissies, @Belgian Defence, @European Security and Defence College (ESDC), @Save the Children International, @Humanitarian Outcomes, @Het Nederlandse Rode Kruis, @Insecurity Insight and @Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna.
