HEAT Focus Group
On October 1, 2021, CSD organised the HEAT (Hostile Environment Awareness Training) Focus Group.
We received feedback from MSF, Red Cross, Cordaid, CARE, SAVE, IUCN, CNV, Nuffic, Freepress, and Clingendael to improve our HEAT courses.
The main topics were: safe learning environment, storyline, training programme and the continuous training cycle. And of course, some virtual reality for the brave (see above).
HEAT Expert Group
October 8, 2021, CSD hosted the HEAT Expert Group in Amersfoort, The Netherlands.
With a group of professional HEAT training providers, we exchanged knowledge and experiences to improve the HEAT standard. Topics were: safe learning environment, building realistic storylines and scenarios, the Re-HEAT, and an update concerning the new EU training programme.
